Attributor and TubeMogul Partner to Measure Web-Wide Audience of Viral Videos

Web-wide content recognition and rich viewership data creates powerful platform for marketers measuring viral reach online

REDWOOD CITY, Calif. – May 14, 2009 – Attributor Corporation, provider of the world's premier Web-wide content monitoring and monetization platform, and TubeMogul, the most popular distribution and analytics online video platform, today announced a strategic partnership to create a new service for measuring and analyzing the online audience of viral videos.

Attributor's platform will continuously monitor the Web for TubeMogul's 80,000 users, leveraging its 35 billion-page index, and use advanced audio and visual fingerprinting algorithms to discover instances of viral videos posted on video-sharing sites.

Traditionally, video recognition services such as Attributor's have been used to identify clips for monetization or removal of popular television shows, which are widely pirated online. However, agencies and advertisers putting out viral videos want to know how their content is re-shared, retweeted and re-mixed as a success metric across the Web.

"To advertisers, having your video copied across YouTube and other sites is a good thing," said Matt Robinson, Vice President of Business Development for Attributor. "Our partnership combines TubeMogul's in-depth analytics platform with continuous monitoring of over 5,000 video hosting sites to deliver unparalleled visibility. “Through this partnership, marketing agencies and advertisers will now have the same view of their content as media companies like Turner Broadcasting," said Brett Wilson, CEO and Co- Founder of TubeMogul. "Measuring a video's virality has never been this comprehensive."
